A Georgian citizen living in Tbilisi has been arrested for the murder of Australian citizen Shanae Brooke. Kakha Muradashvili, the Deputy Director of the Tbilisi Police Department, stated about it at the briefing at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to him, as a result of the investigation, the identity of the accused was confirmed. He was born in 1988 and lives in Tbilisi. He faces up to 7-15 years in prison.

"Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, including eyewitness testimonies, video surveillance camera recordings, genetic examination findings, and other evidence, according to the judge's decision, on September 8 of the current year, R.M., born in 1988, was arrested as a defendant. The case is being investigated under Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years," Muradashvili said.
