High Council of Justice selects Supreme Court judge candidates

The High Council of Justice of Georgia has voted for the following Supreme Court judge candidates: Ilona Todua (10 votes); Genadi Makaridze (10 votes), Nino Sandodze (10 votes); Paata Silagadze (10 votes); Giorgi Tkavadze (11 votes); Tea Dzimistarashvili (10 votes). The list of the six selected candidates will be forwarded to the parliament for review.

The candidates have been selected from a fifty candidate list. Out of these fifty candidates, the High Council of Justice of Georgia chose twenty and forwarded the list of the selected candidates to the parliament in summer. The parliament appointed 14 candidates as Supreme Court judges. However, since candidate Zurab Aznaurashvili refused to run for the post, the Council has again selected six candidates from the 32 candidate list and presented them to the legislative body.
