Irakli Okruashvili, the former Minister of Internal Affairs and Zurab Adeishvili, the former General Prosecutor have been charged with abuse of power. The statement was released by the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.

The case is connected to death of Amiran (Buta) Robakidze, on November 24, 2004.

"Zurab Adeishvili and Irakli Okruashvili have been charged under Article 332, Part 3 (g) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 8 years. The investigation is ongoing at this stage to identify others involved in the crime. Okruashvili will hear he decision in the prison. As for Zurab Adeishvili, he is avoiding Georgian justice system, the decision will be passed on to his lawyer”, reads the statement.
