Civil activist and journalist Tamar Mearakishvili has been declared not guilty by Tskhinvali City Court for the third time.
“I am immensely glad, since this is another victory of ours; the court has declared me not guilty for the third time now. Each individual who subjected me to baseless accusations and this ordeal were forced to pay me compensation by court decision. However, I’m still sure that the Prosecutor’s Office will appeal against the verdict,” announced Tamar Mearakishvili.
Tamar Mearaliskvili was accused of illegal acquisition of the so-called citizenship of the occupied South Ossetia, with this resulting in restriction of her free movement by the Tskhinvali de facto Government.
