In the case of Nika Melia, the chairperson of the United National Movement, the judge did not satisfy any of the motions of the defense.

In particular, we are talking about the motion for interrogation of Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairperson of the Georgian Dream, and Ivane Gulashvili, a former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The lawyers demanded that Irakli Kobakhidze's interview to Rustavi 2 should have been attached to the case as evidence and that he and Ivane Gulashvili must be interrogated.

"After two hours of discussion, the judge told us that he was not interested in the evidence; the judge has a pre-written agenda and is following it. The judge has an obligation to review the issue of Nika Melia's arrest once in two months, but I do not expect the judge to make a lawful decision," said Giorgi Kondakhashvili, Nika Nelia's lawyer.

The trial of Nika Melia continues in the Tbilisi City Court.
