A judge left three people accused of assaulting journalist Vakho Sanaia in custody.
At today's hearing, the lawyers petitioned for the release of the accused, Giorgi Sakhelashvili and Suliko Sakevarashvili, and submitted 2,300 signatures.
According to the defense, the health condition of the accused Giorgi Sakhelashvili worsened in prison.
Judge Giorgi Keratishvili denied the lawyers' motion and remanded the defendants in custody.
Vakho Sanaia and his spouse's relative have been assaulted recently. Sanaia says that he was assaulted over his work.
The three assailants have already been detained and charged.
