The judge has made the decision to keep 20 June detainees Moris Machalikashvili, Ilia Memarnishvili and Giorgi Kurdovanidze in custody.

The defendants’ lawyer submitted a motion for a bail with the City Court, in which the four defendants’ court trial was held; in particular, the lawyers of Ilia Memarnishvili and Giorgi Kurdovanidze asked the judge to release their clients on 3,000 GEL bail, whereas Moris Machalikashvili’s lawyer Keti Chutlashvili offered 5,000 GEL bail in exchange for her client’s freedom.

Judge Davit Mgeliashvili refused to approve the motions and left the detainees in prison.

The aforementioned individuals were detained after being charged for organizing and participating in group violence outside the parliament building on June 20-21. Another individual Bezhan Lortkipanidze, who was detained together with them, was released after the bail was posted.
