A 60-year-old man was wounded with a cold weapon late at night in the village of Kardenakhi, Gurjaani Municipality. According to the available information, a verbal dispute preceded the injury.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that on the charges of severe intentional damage to health, one person - N.Kh., born in 1959, was arrested.
A wounded man has already undergone surgery at the GeoHospitals clinic in Gurjaani, and his health condition is stable.
"The crime envisages imprisonment for a term of 3 to 6 years. The investigation established that the accused stabbed a fellow villager I.I., born in 1968 in the abdomen, in the village of Kardenakhi, Gurjaani Municipality, after a dispute.
Police arrested the accused shortly after the incident, in the hot pursuit, in the village of Kardenakhi. Law enforcement officers seized a weapon of the crime - a knife as evidence. The accused pleads guilty.
The fact of severe intentional damage to health is being investigated under Article 117, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
