The Ministry of Internal Affairs releases information about drug crimes. According to the agency, the Adjara Police Department officers detained five people, including one drug dealer.
"Citizens of foreign countries were detained in Kobuleti and Batumi: T.D., born in 1974, B.A., born in 1993, V.K., born in 1989, O.P., born in the same year, and A.G. B.A. born in 1999 for illegally selling drugs in Batumi. The money received as a result of drug trafficking - more than GEL 8 000 and 44 pills of "Suboxin" were seized as evidence. During the personal search of T.D., three packages of methamphetamine-containing drugs were seized as evidence. As for A.G., who was convicted in the past, during his personal search, a substance containing ten packs of the drug "Alpha PvP" was seized as evidence. As a result of a search of V.K. and O.P.'s personal and temporary residence, 247 packs of drugs were seized as evidence. They placed the drugs in specially selected hiding places," the statement said.
The offenses carry up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
