The Ministry of Internal Affairs has arrested 11 people connected with the "thieves' world." The operation was carried out in Gori and Kareli. A briefing was held at the agency regarding the arrests.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, four people have been charged. The detainees often participated in so-called thieves cases, as well as extorted money and valuables from citizens.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 3 to 10 years in prison.
"A complex investigation has revealed that these individuals recognized the 'thieves' world' and were actively involved in various criminal activities.
During the searches, the law enforcers found the following as evidence: Computer equipment and cell phones of the accused, through which they connected with each other and with the Georgian "thief in law" abroad. Also, a "Mercedes" car got confiscated and 15 thousand dollars, 2 "Magnum" and "Colt" system firearms, armor and ammunition," reads the statement the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
