The Ministry of Internal Affairs has released a statement which is presented below:

The public is aware of their intention to stage a silent protest outside the parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue, with another planned in the vicinity of Kashveti cathedral.

We call upon protesters not to go beyond the law. Hereby, we warn participants of both rallies not to allow appeals to violence and ensure that the protests will go peacefully.

Considering the existing risks, we appeal to representatives of different media outlets to cooperate with police officers and follow the recommendations by the representatives of the MIA.

The MIA will ensure order and safety and will respond to instances of infringement of the law accordingly,'' the statement reads.
