"I can't talk much about the investigation, we do not have the expert conclusion yet," the Minister of Internal Affairs said at a briefing at the government administration.

As Vakhtang Gomelauri noted, after the conclusion, the investigation will know what path to follow.

"This is a serious case, and I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family members, relatives, and friends. It was very difficult for all of us. The Ministry, the Prosecutor's Office, all investigative agencies are waiting for the conclusion," Gomelauri said.

Shakarihvili's family applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs on June 19 that he was missing. Police, along with the rescue service, began searching as soon as they received the message.

After four days of continuous search, the divers found the body of Giorgi Shakarashvili in the river Aragvi.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 17 people in the case of football player Giorgi Shakarashvili. They are charged with organizing group violence, participating in it, illegal deprivation of liberty, and gang violence against two or more persons.

Detainees face between four and ten years in prison if convicted.

Yesterday, on June 28, all the accused in the case of Giorgi Shakarashvili were sentenced to imprisonment.
