"My spouse is an honest and polite man," the 72-year-old's wife who has recently been arrested on child molestation charges said. In her words, she knows nothing about the recent incident and is confident that investigators will determine the truth.
"I assume they are accusing him of something he has not done. I know nothing else," the defendant's spouse told Rustavi 2 TV channel.
Reports fly that the recently charged man has worked as a taxi driver, taking the child to a teacher every day.
"I've found out that the child told the family. As they say, the man sexually abused the child," one of the locals said.
The MIA has released information earlier today on the arrest of a 72-year-old man, who sexually abused a minor.
Following the investigation, police learned that the offender molested a child (DOB 2011) on 9 October in the Khoni municipality.
He is charged with sexual abuse of a victim under 14 years of age. He is now in custody to be sentenced to 8-12 years.
