Giorgi Mikautadze got replaced by Nino Kadagidze as the Chairperson of the High Council of Justice. She was supported by a majority of 13 members of the council. Only one non-judge, Nazi Janezashvili, who attended the session online, was against her candidacy. Apart from Kadagidze, no other candidate got nominated to the council.
According to the amendments to the law on common courts, the Chairperson should be elected from the High Council of Justice's existing members.
After the resignation of Nino Gvenetadze, the Secretary of the High Council of Justice, Giorgi Mikautadze, was acting Chairperson of the High Council of Justice.
