Officers of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia arrested one person for attempting to get a large amount of money belonging to a citizen.
“The investigation revealed that the accused deceived one of the citizens and persuaded him that if he paid the appropriate amount, with the help of the Shida Kartli municipality employee, he would start the privatization process of electronic auction of the land on the municipal balance.
The defendant demanded and seized $ 7,000 from the citizen at the time of his arrest,” the Investigation Service said.
The investigation is in progress under the third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The crime is punishable by imprisonment from six to nine years.
