Law enforcement officers arrested a minor - Sh.A., born in 2005 on charges of damaging or destroying an item by setting it on fire in Batumi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the agency, the investigation established that on June 9 of 2021, Sh.A., together with his accomplices, damaged the glass door of the market "Farfour" located on Parnavaz Mepe Street, Batumi, and set the items there on fire.

Relevant investigative and operative measures are taken to identify and arrest other persons involved in the crime.

The incident is being investigated under Article 187, Part 2, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates damage or destruction of an item by setting it on fire.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison.
