Employees of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the representatives of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service, held one person liable for the fact of exporting a large number of goods by entering false data in the customs declaration at the customs border of Georgia.
According to the agency, the investigation established that a representative of one of the companies, while passing the customs procedures for release for free circulation, declared in a preliminary customs declaration only various types of clothing with a customs value of GEL 59 886 and concealed the fact of the existence of goods with an additional customs value of GEL 31 763 and avoided paying customs duties.
"Investigation is underway under Article 214, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 5 to 7 years," the statement said.
