Law enforcers arrested A.Q., born in 1986, on charges of physical violence against the co-founder of the Georgian Times in Tbilisi; the Ministry of Internal Affairs spreads information.
"The investigation established that on May 25, the accused was in Tbilisi, together with the protesters against the construction of Namakhvani HPP in front of the office of the Media holding "The Georgian Times" on Merab Kostava Street. The accused attacked the co-founder of the same media holding - P.G., born in 1994, with the flagpole. As a result, the victim received facial injuries," the statement said.
According to the agency, the law enforcers, as a result of operative-investigative actions, soon identified the perpetrator of the crime and arrested him as a defendant the next day after the incident.
The fact of violence is being investigated under the first part of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
