Officers of the Rustavi City Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department arrested M.G., born in 1993, who is currently on probation for robbery, and D.Kh., born in 1980, on charges of gang robbery.
As report.ge was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation established that the defendants on January 15 of this year, in the supermarket "Libre" in Rustavi, demanded money from consultants with the threat of a cold weapon, but were resisted in return.
The attackers physically assaulted one of the consultants. The defendants stole GEL 162 cigarettes from the supermarket and fled the scene.
The fact of gang robbery is being investigated under Article 179, Part 2, Subparagraph "b" of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 9 years.
