The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance reports about three people being exposed for official indifference.
"The investigation established that the defendants, who were employees of one of the Imereti municipalities, were instructed to supervise the ongoing road rehabilitation works in the region.
In the performance of their official duties, they have improperly performed the assigned duties. It allowed the contractor company to carry out less work than was stipulated in the contract, thus substantially violating the legitimate interests of the state," the statement said.
The investigation was launched under the first part of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for up to 3 years.
