Employees of the Adjara and Guria Division of the Investigation Department of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as a result of operative-investigative measures, arrested two people for storing and transporting a large number of excisable goods without excise stamps.
As report.ge was informed by the Investigation Service, the investigation revealed that that one of the detainees bought on the territory of Gori Municipality goods and together with the second detainee, by the vehicle owned by the other transported to the territory of Adjara, a particularly large amount of excise-free cigarettes named "OSCAR" and "MAC" for further sale.
As a result of the investigation, 2 500 packs of excise-free cigarettes with a market value of GEL 11 000 were seized.
The investigation is underway under Article 200, Part 2, Subparagraph "g" of the Criminal Code of Georgia and Part 3 of the same Article, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 8 years.
