Former Chief of the Military Police of Georgia, Megi Kardava, will not reportedly be extradited to Georgia.

Lawyer Malkhaz Velijanashvili says that the UN has subjected Megi Kardava to international protection and forbade Ukraine to extradite her to Georgia.

The lawyer claims the decision testifies to the fact that Megi Kardava is a victim of political persecution.

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia requires Megi Kardava's extradition on the basis of eleven criminal cases against her.

Kardava was charged in absentia; other cases against her are still under discussion in the corresponding courts.
