Officers of the Adjara Police Department arrested two people wanted for the murder committed in Batumi in 2007. G.T., born in 1985, and O.K., born in 1983, have been wanted since 2007 for premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
"Batumi City Court on May 24, 2007, found G.T. And O.K. guilty of the charges filed in absentia and declared them wanted. According to the Batumi City Court decision, G.T. and O.K. were sentenced to 18 years and nine months in prison.
On January 1, 2007, the investigation established that at the intersection of Era and Vazha-Pshavela streets in Batumi, G.T. and O.K. inflicted severe bodily injuries to brothers V.A. and D.A. with a cold weapon during a fight. The injured were taken to hospital by ambulance. V.A. died at the hospital on January 13, 2007, as a result of his injuries," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
GT. and O.K. were arrested due to operative and search activities on February 10, 2021, in Batumi. The detainees are being transferred to a penitentiary institution.
