Dea Gverdtsiteli-Abakelia: I never gave up music, no matter what happened

Dea Gverdtsiteli-Abakelia was born in a creative family. Grandfather - musician and artist, grandmother - piano teacher, great grandmother - the first female sculptor. In a family like this one, it was probably logical that the interest in music arose at the age of five.

"My family warned me that if the music were my choice, then I would have to sacrifice myself for the profession. In my profession, there are many problems, but I do not remember the period; I refused all this," says Dea Gverdtsiteli-Abakelia.

She is already a successful pianist today, the winner and laureate of numerous international competitions. After graduating from the Tbilisi Zakaria Paliashvili Central Music School, Dea plans to enroll in the Conservatory.
