Organ grinder: the street organ makes Tbilisi unique

Woodwind instruments, whether it be the zurna, duduk, or street organ, are sources of exotic, overwhelming and enchanting musical sounds for tourists, which take them to a magical world.

Guja Omiadze, 76, inherited his organ from forefathers, and he followed their example by wearing a similar outfit as they did, and playing his organ.

The organ grinder pridefully says that he plays a 120-year-old instrument, which is mixed with an ice cream freezer sometimes, but this does not hamper the old man from doing his job with dignity. Mr. Omiadze has already taught his son the trade, saying that he also must follow in his ancestors' footsteps.
