Axel Fischer, a member of the Bundestag and head of the German-Georgia Forum, has responded to the agreement of 12 June 2020 between Vladimir Putin and de-facto leader of Russian-occupied Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania on creating a common social and economic area.
Fischer says that the three-year program aims to approximate Abkhazia's so-called legislation with that of Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union.
"We want to focus your attention on Russia's recent step within its hybrid policy, for if this intention comes to fruition, Abkhazia will, in fact, become part of the Russian social and economic area," Axel Fischer wrote on his Facebook page.
