The statement by the Administration of the President of Georgia says that Mrs. Zurabishvili will issue the act on pardoning Giorgi Rurua, the founder and shareholder of Mtavari Arkhi TV, a week after the 27 April plenary session.
''The Georgian President mentioned in her 19 April statement that in order for the country and the parliament to return to normalcy and cope with the existing challenges, she decided to release the inmate on parole under certain circumstances.
Considering that the ruling and opposition parties reached the agreement and the European Council President, as well as the US Ambassador, confirmed this, the first condition has been met.
As for the second condition, the political parties have signed the final document, and they are expected to take their seats in the parliament on 27 April.
This implies as it is provided for in the agreement that the second condition will also be met in a week's time, and the president will exercise her pardon power the same day,'' the statement reads.
