All emigrants are our country's potential ambassadors, says Georgian President

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has awarded winners of grant competition announced by the Foreign Ministry of Georgia for the diaspora.

The ceremony was held at the Orbeliani Palace, with all diaspora representatives having won the competition being remotely involved in it from different countries.

Awards were conferred upon 22 winners within the Diaspora Initiative Support program; eighteen winners received awards within the Be Your Country's Young Ambassador program, and 22 winners were granted awards within the Georgian Dance and Singing Ensemble Support program.

President Zurabishvili stressed that emigrants in foreign countries are a core of Georgia, with each of them being 'the country's potential ambassador.'

Georgian FM Davit Zalkaliani, The Chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia, and Head of the Georgian Office of the International Center for Migration Policy Development, Zurab Korganashvili, addressed guests at the Orbeliani Palace.
