Anna Bjerde, the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, congratulated Georgia on succeeding in managing the pandemic at the joint briefing with Georgian PM Gharibashvili.
Anna Bjerde said that after her last visit, lots of things have changed in Georgia.
In her words, the country took all the required precautionary measures before the pandemic hit it.
''In our judgment, the country's health system was ready for the pandemic. It was also prepared economically, as support to the families and different fields was ensured,'' the World Bank Vice President said, adding that Georgia proved one of the first countries to ask them for assistance, with them providing the country with emergency assistance instantly.
According to Anna Bjerde, they plan to ensure multi-profile support for Georgia in connection to the vaccination and proper planning of the vaccine purchase process.
In addition, the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia said that the World Bank has also been helping Georgia to strengthen its small and medium-sized businesses.
