"The tragedy of April 9, 1989, brought Georgia together. On April 9, 1991, the idea of freedom of our country came together, which got passed down from generation to generation and nurtured love and self-sacrifice for the homeland: The first President of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia, announced the restoration of Georgia's state independence at the Parliament. "A nation fighting for freedom has gained freedom," Archil Talakvadze wrote.
