“The law states that the guilty verdict of the court, which reveals the crime is a ground for termination of Parliament membership”, Archil Talakvadze responded to questions regarding Nika Melia’s case.
“Read what is written in the law. You are the journalists who read the laws, so I recommend that you read this law as well", Talakvadze said.
The court fined Nika Melia, a member of the United National Movement, with GEL 25,000. In addition, he was deprived of the right to hold office for 2 years and 3 months.
