"Unfortunately, the Parliament of Georgia was not able to postpone the date for electoral changes from 2024 to 2020," Archil Talakvadze, the Chairman of the Parliament, said while addressing the eighth annual session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
Talakvadze mentioned that the ruling party is working on OSCE-ODIHR recommendations to improve election rules.
According to him, the changes made to the Constitution in 2017-2018 help the process of protection of democracy and human rights.
"The current Constitution strengthens our aspirations for European and Euro-Atlantic structures and clearly states that integration into the European Union and NATO is a top priority for Georgia's foreign policy," Talakvadze said.
