"It seems that the pandemic's impact on the global economy will continue, and we are doing everything possible to restore our economy and get people back to work quickly," the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia stated.
According to Archil Talakvadze, the government is also doing everything to restore the educational process, to renew all social and economic functions as it was before the pandemic.
"We understand that this will take time, so we will continue to care for each citizen.
During the global pandemic, our main task was to protect our citizens' lives and health, as well as the social and economic assistance to the families most affected by the pandemic. We continue to care for our fellow citizens. That is why, today, we made new decisions. Children will receive one-time assistance of GEL 200 before the school year starts. We also decided to help 80 thousand self-employed people with an additional GEL 300 and students within 150 thousand social points. All students will receive one semester of funding from the state. In addition, those students who have their student status suspended due to the inability to pay will receive one-year financing from the state, amounting to GEL 1225. In November-February, the state will cover the utility bills of all families within the set limit," Talakvadze said.
