''Good-neighborly relations and friendship have always linked Georgia and Azerbaijan,'' Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said after the meeting with his Georgian counterpart Irakli Gharibashvili.
''Welcome, Mr. Prime Minister! Azerbaijan-Georgian relations are immensely important to us; likewise, we appreciate your visit to our country shortly after your appointment, and we think that this gesture clearly shows the Georgian government's attitude to our relations,'' Mr. Asadov said, adding that ethnic minorities in Georgia and Azerbaijan play a great role in strengthening the existing relations between the two countries.
In Mr. Asadovs words, mutual projects, such as TAP, are also paramount both at the local and regional levels. ''I want to emphasize that you participated in its opening on 20 Sept 2014,'' he addressed Mr. Gharibashvili.
''We give great significance to our joint projects, bilateral political, economic, and trade relations, and we think our prospects are great. We can further cooperate in different fields such as communications, agriculture, education, science, healthcare, and other fields,'' Azerbaijani prime minister concluded.
