The meeting of the opposition leaders and the EU Parliament Members is completed. Giorgi Vashadze, the Leader of the New Georgia party, said that the meeting was short since the European Deputies are well aware of the situation.
“There is serious anxiety and the readiness that the strict measures are undertaken regarding the Georgian Dream. The EU Parliament Members have the intension to more actively get involved in the processes even at the extent of applying an ultimatum towards the Georgian Dream”, - declared Giorgi Vashadze.
According to him, the peaceful protest finally brought the results, and the opposition won “over the lies” of the government.
The Leader of European Georgia, Davit Bakradze, says that the EU Parliament Members do not speak on their preferences with regards to the election system to be implemented.
“The Georgians have to decide which system has to be used for the elections. We don’t have to expect that the Deputies of the European Parliament support German, Czech or Hungarian models. They will support the model the Georgian political specter and the Georgian society agrees on”, - said Bakradze.
According to Bakradze, the EU Deputies summon the Georgian politicians to find the solution of the created situation and compromise. Bakradze says that the German model is the one to stabilize the processes.
The meeting between the opposition parties’ leaders and the EU MP in Biltmore Hotel lasted one hour.
