The Parliament will vote on 19 candidates for the Supreme Court.

Candidates need the support of 76 lawmakers.

If supported, lawmakers will have to approve the candidates at a parliamentary session.

Today's session will be held amid the protest. The opposition is planning the rally. The opposition, non-governmental sector and non-judge member of the High Council of Justice of Georgia called on the Government to remove the candidates.

The interviews with 50 candidates for the Supreme Court judge position completed in August. The shortlist of 20 people was submitted to the Parliament on September 7. The hearing of candidates started on September 23 and ended on November 8. Zaza Tavadze, Chairman of the Constitutional Court, refuses to be a judge of the Supreme Court.
