We hail a joint statement by the ambassadors facilitating the political dialogue on the election system-related constitutional amendments, Chairperson of the Parliament Archil Talakvadze said this in his statement.

"We think that the agreement on this issue among the political parties is important for our country's democratic development.

Our political team will fully support the Draft Constitutional Law at the 21 June session.

We hail the decision to approve these constitutional amendments by some opposition members.

Remembering the Ambassadors' appeal, we once again call upon the parliamentary factions of the United National Movement and European Georgia to participate in voting and approve the already agreed changes," Talakvadze announced.

The Ambassadors mediating between the government and the opposition have issued a joint statement in which they appealed to all parties to take part in voting and comply with the 8 March agreement.

Roman Gotsiridze, a leader of the National Movement, defined the ambassadors' appeal as important and said that they would discuss this issue in the team.

Earlier, the leftists refused to take part in voting unless Nika Rurua was released from custody.

The Legal Issues Committee of the Parliament has approved constitutional amendments, with 11 members of the committee voting for them.
