The Parliament has not approved the constitutional amendment bill drawn up by the opposition, with 35 MPs having supported it and 55 refused to do so.

The draft bill envisaged introduction of a 3 percent threshold on the proportional voting system and formation of political blocs.

European Georgia party and the National Movement have both approved the initiative by the parliamentary majority on implementation of the proportional voting system; however, European Georgia is against abolishing electoral blocs.

Also, today, the parliament has to discuss the project by the majority envisaging implementation of proportional voting system in the 2020 parliamentary elections, with zero election threshold.
