“Churches within the Davit Gareja Monastery Complex will open for Georgian priesthood tomorrow”, Giorgi Gakharia, the Prime Minister of Georgia stated.
According to Gakharia this problem should have been resolved within the national interest of the two countries, taking the historical heritage into account.
“We can not avoid important issue like the Davit Gareja Monastery Complex. Unfortunately the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan is not defined, this is our post-Soviet legacy and problem for the last 25 years. Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan said that we have a history and geography that bind us together. Of course, I can fully agree with that because friends and partners are not divided by history and geography but connected”, Giorgi Gakharia said.
Giorgi Gakharia the Prime Minister of Georgia started his official visits with meeting Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan.
