Davit Zalkaliani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, met with Stef Blok, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Zalkaliani noted that the bilateral meeting is crucial.
“It has been ten years since the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands visited Georgia. It will be a good opportunity to talk about bilateral, close relations. The Prime Minister of Georgia recently visited the Netherlands, and this is a continuation of his visit. I am sure that the bilateral cooperation we have both in economic terms, in terms of supporting the Netherlands, as well as in the direction of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, will once again be strengthened,” Zalkaliani said.
A joint press conference of Foreign Ministers is ongoing at the Ceremonial Palace of Georgia in Tbilisi.
Within the framework of the official visit, Stef Blok will arrive in Odzisi village and get acquainted with the situation with the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia.
Stef Blok will take part in the wreath-laying ceremony on the Memorial of the Fallen Heroes of Georgia.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Georgia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Maxime Verhagen, paid an official visit to Georgia in 2009.
