Davit Zalkaliani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met Marija Pejcinovic Buric, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
At the joint news conference two leaders said that Georgia after 20 years of joining the Council of Europe would be the chairman of the Committee of Ministers.
Zalkaliani said that the Georgian side has set priorities and a 6-month calendar that will be implemented during the presidency.
"Starting from November 27, Georgia will take over the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers. The presidency is a great responsibility for Georgia, it gives us the opportunity to work and overcome the challenges facing the organization, support it's core values, human rights, democracy and affirm the rule of law", Davit Zalkaliani said.
