"Going to the polls is safe even amidst the pandemic as we follow all recommendations," Tamta Zhvania, the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC), said and called upon her fellow citizens to participate in the forthcoming elections.

In Zhvania's words, all preventive measures will be carried out at all 3,657 electoral precincts across Georgia. "For quarantined or self-isolated voters, 127 separate polling stations will function," she said, adding that voters will have to be inside the building for a short time, with this not posing a risk to their health.

On 31 October 2020, in compliance with the new electoral system rules, the parliament of the 10th convocation will be elected in Georgia.
