A member of For Georgia party, Kakhaber Kvelmoklidze, says that elections cannot be called off as this plays into the hands of the Georgian Dream.
"The government must do everything in its power to regulate these problems through proper management and consistency. The elections must be held in full compliance with safety measures and within the constitutional framework. They cannot be canceled,'' he stated.
Ombudsman Nino Lomjaria said earlier that elections worsen the epidemiological situation, with the country already passing through this ordeal last year.
''When 60-70 citizens die daily, with the country's vaccination rate being low, everything cannot remain open,'' Nino Lomjaria stressed.
Georgia recorded 2,354 coronavirus cases, 5,200 recoveries, and 60 deaths.
