Ex-leader Saakashvili refuses treatment in protest over 'disciplinary measures against him'

Georgian ex-pres. Mikheil Saakashvili has released another note from the Gori hospital.

According to the note, the Justice Ministry of Georgia was fined today ''following the blatant violation of the president's rights.''

As Saakashvili says, around 6 hours after the imposition of the fine upon the state agency, two employees from the 18th penitentiary establishment entered his cell and told him that he was being subjected to disciplinary measures because he intentionally damaged the pressure device when they tried to subject him to ''medical manipulations against his will.'' Disciplinary measures included reducing the number of meetings allowed and taking away his TV set.

''Following this, they made mother who had all rights to see me wait for around four hours in the street and forced her to return to Tbilisi eventually. They also refused to let my personal physician in before the hospital administration was involved in the situation.

Their response to the State Inspector's opinion is that they have refused to take down the footage violating my dignity, and sought vengeance against me.

This is the reason why I am refusing all sorts of medical treatment and plan to protest before they comply with the decision of Toloraia's agency by revoking the disciplinary measures and letting my visitors see me,'' the note reads.
