According to former PM, and For Georgia party leader, Giorgi Gakharia, he has never dealt with drug problems.

In Gakharia's words, they were hatching a scheme against him, which is why he refused to undergo a drug test at the Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau.

''I do not know how this happened, maybe because of my past, maybe because of my connections, one kind man, God bless him, warned me against going there as positive drug test results would have arrived,'' Gakharia said. 

Earlier, Georgian Dream mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze passed a drug test and noted that no traces of drugs had been found in his system. He called on his colleagues to follow suit.

Georgian Dream Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze said that he would no longer have questions if the former PM and current mayoral candidate Giorgi Gakharia agreed to undergo the drug test that very day. However, later Gakharia stated that the Samkharauli Forensic Bureau was contriving a scheme against him, which is why he planned to undergo a drug test abroad.

UNM Chairman and Tbilisi mayoral candidate Nika Melia said that he has no problem with undergoing medical examination, and he had repeatedly done so before.

Georgian Dream _ Democratic Georgia Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze stated earlier that Gakharia has developed an addiction to drugs lately, and his addiction is now so strong that he cannot go without drugs even for a week.

Giorgi Gakharia published his drug test results on 17 September. 

''A thorough examination at RUDOLFINERHAUS hospital showed no traces of drugs,'' he said in his social media post.
