According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lasha Darsalia, the situation in the occupied territories will be discussed at the 52nd round of the Geneva talks.
He said the Geneva talks would traditionally take place while having a difficult background.
"There is a second group where human rights and humanitarian issues are discussed. The main topic in this group will be the human rights situation in the occupied territories. These are illegal detentions, illegal so-called borderization process, discrimination of ethnic grounds.
One of the Geneva talks' components is the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism meetings in Ergneti and Gali. Unfortunately, these meetings have not been held in Gali for a long time. We demand the resumption of these meetings as it is important to improve the situation on the ground in terms of humanitarian and human rights. We expect meetings in both directions to become regular," Lasha Darsalia said.
