Georgia hands Ukraine a note of protest

Georgia's interim representative to Ukraine Davit Bochorishvili conducted a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar today.

"Davit Bochorishvili handed a note of protest to Ukraine for the 9 July statement by Mikheil Saakashvili, the Secretary of the Executive Committee of Ukraine's National Council for Reforms, and voiced concerns over irresponsible statements by the Ukrainian government towards Georgia.

At the meeting, Bochorishvili underscored that similar provocative steps undermine amicable relations and strategic partnerships between the two countries. Both countries showed their readiness to strengthen and deepen their cooperation," the statement reads.

Saakashvili, Georgia's third president, said in his video address that the Georgian government is illegitimate, and he will be in the frontline of October elections aiming to topple the government and overthrow Ivanishvili.
