The Parliament of Georgia has approved the composition of the country's new delegation in the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly. Giorgi Khelashvili will head the delegation.

The main members of the delegation are Giorgi Khelashvili, Kakha Kakhishvili, and Davit Matikashvili. Levan Mgalobishvili, Kakhaber Kuchava, and Irakli Zarkua were on the reserve team.

The GUAM consultative forum was established on October 10, 1997, during the Council of Europe Summit in Strasbourg, with four countries' participation (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova).

On May 22-23, 2006, at the GUAM Summit in Kyiv, a new organization - the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development was established based on the GUAM Union. The heads of the state of the GUAM countries officially approved the creation of the new organization and signed the relevant declaration of Kyiv, the charter of the organization, and other founding documents.
