Due to the global pandemic, large-scale events marking Georgia's Independence Day will not take place this year. The Prime Minister's spokesman Irakli Chikovani revealed information about the changes.
According to him, the head of the government will celebrate May 26 with the Georgian Defense Forces.
"May 26 is the most important date in the history of our country and for every citizen of Georgia. As you know, in recent years, May 26 has become a large-scale public celebration attended by thousands. This year, due to the global pandemic, we have to celebrate this important date in different circumstances. State agencies will celebrate Independence Day in various ways. As for the Georgian government, the Prime Minister will celebrate May 26 with the Georgian Defense Forces at the base of the IV Mechanized Brigade in Vaziani," Chikovani said.
