The date for the local self-government elections has been fixed under the legislation of Georgia.
The election code will determine 2 October as the date for holding the elections.
At today's plenary session, GD MP Shalva Papuashvili said that the opposition put forward the initiative on determining the election date under the legislation, with the ruling party supporting the initiative.
